“Every time I had a class, I had to figure out the culture of the class, what was important to them, and then tie math into it. I taught a class where the students were not excited about math, they refused to study, and it was a battle. When it comes to [converting fractions to decimals], you need to know 1/2 is [the same thing as] .5 and like 30 others that make other parts of math much more simple.”
