A Growth Mindset Journal for Students – Grades 4-8
The Love Math Journal was created to help children and students build confidence and a passion for learning math and other challenges.
It encourages curiosity and excitement about math, while strengthening social-emotional learning (SEL) skills, such as:
-
identifying and managing emotions,
-
recognizing sources of stress,
-
learning to cope with challenges,
-
maintaining motivation and perseverance,
-
developing a sense of awareness,
-
thinking critically and creatively,
-
and cultivating a growth mindset toward math.
It also incorporates gratitude because students who practice gratitude regularly can better communicate, make decisions, solve problems, deal with anxiety, and work well with others – all things that benefit math students!
The journal was designed to be quick and easy to use. By spending 2-3 minutes actively nurturing your students and children’s mindsets and feelings toward math, you will help set them up for success.
